Interviewer: How can we keep our hair color lasting as long as possible? What products should we be using to maintain our hair color?

Oscar Blandi: Well, there are different ways to keep your hair color in tact, and get longevity and a long life. One thing is you don't really want to wash your hair every day. A lot of people, they have they feel because they get dried quickly, they feel the hair is a little brittle, they feel they must go in the shower, wash the hair, condition their hair and so and so forth.

It's not necessary to do all that. Once you get your color done, actually what you want to do, you want to try to preserve the life of your color as long as you can.

That's why we have instruction books to prolong the life of your blow drying, to absorb excessive oil, excessive build up so you can go back at least another day or two, or sometimes three, you don't have all this stuff of your hair that doesn't release any oil or there's no product build up. So that's going to help you in one way.

The other way to maintain your color is to have a glaze, a salon glaze. We're coming out with a new salon glaze. Right now, we have Luce.

But we do have Luce. You use right after the shower. You shampoo, you condition, you put Luce which is silk...light. Basically, you leave in your hair for 3-5 minutes, rinse off with a mild, cold water. It's always better because any product in contact with the water, washes out.

So if you use a mild or cold water, actually you have a chance to lock the product in your hair shaft. That's what you really want.

Not because it's my product, but Luce is specifically created to create a protection and a film around your hair. So the moment you dry your hair, your color will stay enhanced, with much more life. It's much more shiny, it's much softer.

The other thing is it won't weigh your hair down. Most of the colors, they all have oil base. This is not. So it's really going to help to maintain life of your color much, much longer which you will look at the end of the year, which will allow a great amount of savings.

I notice a huge difference when I don't use this, and I see build up if I use another brand of serum type product. I probably have purchased 10+ times and although this is expensive, I wouldn't use or rec. any other serum. User review I have fine straight hair and everyone comments how silky and shiny it is. I also color my hair because I have a lot of gray, not unusual for a 54 year old. My hair used to be smooth but with the coloring it is sometimes dry and course, so I tried this product and have been hooked. It really smooths the cuticle and smells wonderful. The smell doesn't last for those that do not like it. I use about 5 pumps and sometimes mix in a drop of Moroccan oil. The Moroccan oil smells bad so I much prefer this product. It was such a tiny sample that I thought I would use it up in two days, it ended up lasting for about 8 uses and it was really small. I followed the instructions and just used about three drops each time, rubbing together in my hands and then through my hair. My hair is long and fine, but I have tons of it and it's wavy, easily frizzes. This makes me feel like I have a new head of hair. I tried it both when straightening my hair and wearing it curly and it worked in both situations. I tend to straighten more in the winter and go curly in the summer humidity.
